Each year, the VtV RMV User Group gathers Villages’ requests for enhancements to the features on RMV’s Services tab, works with Villages to decide priorities, and then submits these as recommendations to ClubExpress. In recent years, CE has implemented most of the Villages’ highest-priority recommendations.

Please help us as we are planning a new process for gathering and prioritizing recommendations so that the process is more public and it is easier for Villages to get involved. Our kickoff will be at a User Talk on Tuesday, March 12 at 3pm ET. (Note: this is a week earlier than our usual User Talks.)

Process between now and March 12

  • If your Village has an idea for a proposed enhancement or bug fix for any of the features on the RMV Services tab, please submit your idea to RMVusers@vtvnetwork.org . Tell us:
    • The problem you are trying to solve (e.g., need ... information for our understanding of services provided) or process you are trying to improve (e.g., our call managers would make fewer errors if this...).
    • Your suggestion (if you have one) how to make the improvement (e.g., add field to screen, create report that does ...). This should be in functional, not technical, language. If appropriate, please include a mockup or similar.
    • Your name, Village, and contact information.
  • At the March 12 meeting, the attendees will first discuss each of the proposals that we’ve received before the meeting. Our emphasis will be (1) is the proposal clear, (2) is it complete, and (3) how important the change would be to other Villages as well as your own. If there is additional time, we will discuss any proposed enhancements that people bring up at the meeting but have not submitted before the meeting.

Please invite any people from your Village who you believe can contribute to the discussion. This may include people who do not normally attend our User Talks – e.g., call managers, member service managers, VSS and AOR coordinators.

Important to understand that this is not a session to discuss how to use existing features...this is about improvements. However, if you are not sure whether a feature exists, please suggest it. If we can tell you that it exists, we can discuss it with you separately after the meeting.

We want to kick off the process to identify enhancements as soon as possible. There will be additional opportunities to suggest enhancements after this meeting, but those submitted first will be more thoroughly discussed and improved through discussion with other Villages.

To get the Zoom link for the meeting: Register on the VtV Calendar to get the Zoom or, if you are not a VtV member, send us a request with your name and email address to RMVusers@vtvnetwork.org.

These monthly talks are designed to help Villages use RunMyVillage more effectively.  Each month has a different topic. The intended audience always includes the technology community within your Village; in addition, others in the Village may be invited based on the planned topic.  Each of the User Talks has time for Villages to ask RunMyVillage-related questions to RMV and to other Villages. Examples of what we plan for these talks: RMV new release updates and discussions, results of surveys of desired enhancements to RMV, discussion of best practices and common issues particularly where Villages use RMV is different ways, and orientations for new Villages. If you have ideas for topics, email us at RMVusers@vtvnetwork.org.  Videos for all previous User Talk webinars are on the VtV website.
