StrongerMemory: Improve Your Brain Health
Ten years ago, Rob Liebreich and his family noticed that his mother, Wendy, started repeating herself and struggling with her ability to focus. She was showing signs of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). As he was actively working in the field of senior living and healthcare at the time, Rob sought ways to treat the challenge. He was unable to find an existing program that was specific to MCI, so with help from colleagues and other experts, Rob and his family created their own. Today, this family-inspired innovation has evolved into the Goodwin House StrongerMemory program.
StrongerMemory by Goodwin House provides a curriculum designed to stimulate the brain’s prefrontal cortex, which governs our ability to retrieve memories. The program encourages participants to spend just 20 to 30 minutes a day reading aloud, writing or journaling and quickly completing simple math problems. Through consistent use of StrongerMemory exercises, Rob’s mother and others have noticed improvement in their ability to focus, find misplaced items and remember conversations.
