RunMyVillage User Talk - 3 PM ET/ 2PM CT/ 1 PM MT/ 12PM PT

February’s VtV RMV Users Talk is about best ideas for designing, creating, and maintaining RunMyVillage websites.  The focus will be on specific questions that two Villages have asked about how to improve their websites.  Of course, while the focus will be on two Villages, we expect attendees from all Villages will be able to bring back insights that will be useful to their own Village.  This will be a discussion; all attendees will be encouraged to contribute ideas.

We expect the key learnings may include ideas about (1) content – what to say, what page to say it on, (2) look and feel – how to choose widgets, fonts, colors, pictures/graphics, and more to make each webpage appealing, and (3) resources – how to use RMV capabilities that best suit the skill set and time your Village has for creating and maintaining pages.

Specifically, we are going to be looking at plans to improve their sites and questions from Groton Neighbors and South Whidbey at Home.

Also, we hope also to have time to review some “web standards” that Villages use for page formatting, colors, fonts/sizes, page flow, words to use/not use, capitalization and punctuation, links, etc.    If your have some standards that you think are good, please send them to us at RMVusers@VtVnetwork.org well before the event and we will try to incorporate them into a sample document that we can distribute.

We expect those most interested in this session will be people from your Village who develop content for the web (for some Villages this may include people from your marketing, membership, and communications committees) and those who create and maintain web pages.  Please invite anyone from your Village who you think might be interested.

Please register through the Village to Village Network website’s Calendar.

Also, we ask people from your Village to sign up for our VtV RMV Users Group Forum on the VtV Website – this is the primary way the Users Group communicates to Villages using RunMyVillage.  If you have not yet become a member of the Forum, please do so through (1) signing up through your Profile on the VtV site or (2) sending us a note at RMVusers@vtvnetwork.org.
