RunMyVillage User Talk - 3 PM ET/ 2PM CT/ 1 PM MT/ 12PM PT

The May VtV RMV Users Talk will be one of our periodic “Giant Q+A’s.” We intend this session to address specific questions about RMV’s features that we have heard in our communication with Villages (that is, this is a “deeper dive,” not a general overview of features).  The idea is to demo specific features that have been asked about, answer specific questions, and make suggestions about how (and why) to use RMV features.  We will specifically look at features that we found that some Villages don’t know are already available.


This session will focus on improving the skills and answering questions of those people who are experienced RunMyVillage users but have questions or will benefit from hearing the questions of others.  This is not a session for new users seeking basic understanding of RMV.

As we have done in the past, we will collect questions from the Villages, group them, and ask them to CE/RMV staff.  If there is time left, we will open the session to questions from anyone.


Here is a partial list of the topics that we’ve received and may be included.  We will update this list as we hear from you.

2. Money tab

§  How to insure that someone in the office is notified:

    • When there is an incoming Cash Receipt from CE as Merchant Bank?

3. Emailing

§  How to make the best-looking emails (particularly, how to use images, photos, pdfs that you want embedded in the email)

§  How/when to track sent emails; bad emails

4. Document folder

§  Using “Pending Approval” as the Visibility (of a folder)? 

5. Vetting module – how to use/when to use

6. Member/Non-member manager

§  Merging duplicate records

§  Special Instructions, Staff Alerts, and Custom Fields

§  Member Renewal processing and Expiration emails

7. Survey

§  “Using CE to gather and report total volunteer hours. We’re struggling to find a good method, and wonder if Survey might work”.   More generally, suggestions for gathering and reporting on volunteer hours

These monthly talks are designed to help Villages use RunMyVillage more effectively.  Each month has a different topic.  The intended audience always includes the technology community within your Village; in addition, others in the Village may be invited based on the planned topic.  Each of the User Talks has time for Villages to ask RunMyVillage-related questions to RMV and to other Villages. Examples of what we plan for these talks: RMV new release updates and discussions, results of surveys of desired enhancements to RMV, discussion of best practices and common issues particularly where Villages use RMV is different ways, and orientations for new Villages.   If you have ideas for topics, email us at rmvusers@vtvnetwork.org
